With many years of trial and error,
Theophilus and the rest of Concert Presentations have been developing the programs now offered.
Designed with a balance of sacred and secular work, all based on the Lord.
One of our most advanced programs yet, program 13 is an overview of Concert Presentations‘ 12 presentations. It features notable selections such as Vivaldi’s Winter concerto, Edouard Lalo Symphonie Espagnole, and an original skit, “The Lesson.”
New Chapters was the first program that was created in the current program creation format. Created in 2018, this program will next be preformed in 2024.
By 2024, all of the current programs will have been completely redone.
“Chapter Two”, the second program, was the first to include the “About the Family” update, the predecessor of the “Pratt Family Newsletter”.
“Yes You Are” was the third program created. In this program, the format has been farther refined, with many of the changes being in the verbal presentation.
Program 4 was still under development within it’s first performance debut.
While the paper program was still under development, the verbal commentary was farther developed into a better structure format for the program.
“The Missions” was the first program to be developed under the official Concert Presentation umbrella. In this program, it was our goal to present the mission of Concert Presentations.
In “Romanze,” we had to change the margin size for our program, due to the lack of space.
“Summer in Winter for Elise” was the official debut of the Pratt Family Newsletter, Family Missions. The newsletter was necessary because we had run out of room for both information about the selections and the About the Family section in the program. This program was also not able to be fully performed, due to the grand entrance of Covid 19.
Over the years we have practiced and preformed many classical compositions. We have chosen our favorites and put them into a single medley.
With the many hymns that we have preformed and composed, the same thing can be said about them. We have enjoyed many, but these are our favorites.
Bruce’s first program was performed in 2000 at Taft Towers in Boulder, CO.
“A JOURNEY THROUGH TIME” was the first of three programs developed in the beta format. This program was the first program that was recorded.
“After an introductory track the chronological journey begins. Often times, people have difficulty associating classical music with corresponding historical events. This is an effort to connect music to events which occurred in United States history.”
“Thank you John Dyson, of Dyson Piano, for your providing the Mason and Hamlin piano as well as the recording location for this CD. Thank you Allen Barker and Jayne Kelly, both phenomenal pianists and musicologists, for your guidance and support. And thank you listeners for allowing this humble musician the chance to contribute something to the world.”

“TRADITIONAL VS. NON-TRADITIONAL” was the second of these programs. Here, the recording process was improved.
“Programs one, two, and three represent a three year project. The intent of this project is to create three themed concert programs. The intent of these themed programs is to allow an audience to connect more closely with the music and the musician than current concert etiquette allows. My desire is to create classically based concerts that are, generally speaking, more appealing and more accessible to the general public.
However, programs one, two, and three represent more than this. Each program is designed to connect music to the world in some way, After all, music’s inspiration can usually be attributed to more than just itself, worldly or otherwise. Whether my inspiration is more worldly or otherwise is difficult for me to say. I feel too close to the situation to offer an unbiased opinion.
Finally, from the mind of someone who considers himself a student of life, these three programs represent three years of development involving many, many aspects of who I am. What I have learned in the past three years has left me with one thought: I look forward to what I may learn in the next three. I look forward with the hope that I am able to share some of what I learn with my audiences again in the future.”

“BELIEF IN QUESTION – THOUGHTS OF THE TRUTH” was the last of these beta programs, and this concluded the development of the concert presentation program format.
“Many people find my programs odd or different. I don’t believe in strict conventional approaches. I believe they can cause us to remain too long where we are rather then where we could be. It is said history was written by men who hung heroes. It is also said that well-behaved people seldom make history. This is true in music as well as in all other areas of life. It is interesting to think of where the world is today. Most of the significant advancements that have occurred in history were brought about by people who chose to follow the truth they believed in, rather than the belief that was accepted to be true.”
