Over the past 25 years, due to a variety of factors, music lessons were not an option.
However, with recent events beyond our control, and our primary source of outreach taken away,
we decided that lessons would be one of our best options for outreach.
From the beginning of Bruce’s career, his mission was always to give without partiality. This was a mission that he carried out mainly in his concert arena. However, when the idea of lessons became a viable option, we realized that we would take the goal of giving without partiality to this platform as well.
In doing this, and seeing the need in even our own community, we made the decision to give our lessons at no cost to our students.
Since we began giving lessons two years ago, we have not charged for a single one of them.
As many of the lessons we give are to young students, they generally turn into not only lessons but a great source of socialization for both the student, the parents or guardian, and also our entire family.
After greetings, the student and teacher will proceed to their class. If another event is happening at the same time, the participants will proceed to their area of gathering, while everyone else visits.
After the lesson, we either have to say farewell, or we are able to have some social time before proceeding to the rest of our day.
Finally, Bruce will record a short video, a summery of the lesson just taught, to be posted on the Concert Presentations Youtube channel. This is for the student to utilize as practice ensues throughout the week.
However, this comes at a cost.
Creating the lessons plans, hosting the students, and the time and effort that goes into preparing, is all an expense.
These resources which we expend are valuable to us, but we feel that it is our calling to provide this resource, along with our Concert Presentations, to the community.
The lessons described above are the lessons which we give to those who indicate a need and interest. However, we rely on benefactors to make this possible.
We are extremely grateful to anyone who feels that these lessons are a worthwhile cause, and decide to contribute to them, as it allows us to continue on this path of giving without partiality.
Anyone who wishes to donate any amount to our cause is appreciated. However, we offer a special option for anyone who has the ability to contribute in a greater way.
This is a “one-time fee” for a first “piano lesson,” with “lifelong support for free lessons included.”
The above-mentioned “lesson” is an afternoon with Bruce, with possible guest appearances from other students, Jessica, Elijah, Marietta, and others.
In this lesson, the first thing that is taught is perfect pitch, followed by the basics of learning piano.
